BillMatrix FAQ

 

Question: What payment methods are accepted for online bill payments?

Answer:  Credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover), ATM debit card (Star, Pulse, NYCE, ACCEL), and ACH/electronic check payments are accepted.

Question: Do I have to use the online payment service?

Answer:  No, The online payment service is offered for your convenience only, and is one of many payment options available to Intermountain Gas Company customers.

Question: What information will you ask for if I make my payment online?

Answer:  To make a payment with a credit or ATM debit card, have the following information ready:

  • Your 12-digit IGC account number located on your statement

  • The dollar amount you wish to pay

  • The credit or ATM debit number on the front of your card

  • Your security code located on the back of your credit card in the signature strip. It is at least 3 digits and is always printed AFTER your credit card number (see illustration).

  • Month/Year expiration date

  • Zip code where the card statement is mailed

  • Be sure to print out the confirmation page for your records.

To make a payment with a checking account, have the following information ready:

  • Your 12-digit IGC account number located on your statement

  • The dollar amount you wish to pay

  • The routing number and checking account number. The routing number is the 9-digit identifier that is specific to your bank. It is located between the two symbols on the bottom left-hand side of the check. Your checking account number immediately follows your bank's routing number as the second set of numbers (see illustration).

  • Be sure to print out the confirmation page for your records.

Question: Why would the 'Authorize' or 'Next' buttons be gray when making an online payment?

Answer:  This situation can result for the following reasons:

Browser Incompatibility. BillMatrix/Quick Payment supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above. Netscape and many other Internet browsers are not supported by the BillMatrix/Quick Payment system.

Verify that all of the fields on the screen have been filled in with the correct information. Only fields that are necessary for payment processing are included on the Web screens, so all fields must be appropriately updated in order to proceed to the next page.

Question: What confirmation do I receive when I make an online payment?

Answer: The interactive Voice Recognition system will automatically give you a confirmation number when your payment is processed. We encourage you to write down your confirmation number for your records.

Question: Can I retrieve my confirmation number if I did not record it at the time I made my payment?

Answer: Yes. In the case of credit card, ATM debit card, or ACH/electronic check payments, you can call 1-866-558-2808 to receive the confirmation number.

Question: I have received a Final Disconnect Notice, can I make my payment with BillMatrix?

Answer: Yes, you can make your payment through BillMatrix. However, you should contact Intermountain Gas Customer Service with your payment confirmation number to avoid possible disconnection of your gas service.

Question: My account has been disconnected. If I make my payment through BillMatrix when will my account be reconnected?

Answer: After paying the entire past due balance, in addition to the BillMatrix convenience fee, you must contact the IGC Customer Service Department to schedule a reconnect.

Question: When will the payment be posted on my account?

Answer:  Card payments made before midnight, MST, will be posted to your account the next business day (except on weekends or holidays). Payments made after midnight, MST, will be posted to your account the following business day (except on weekends or holidays).
